I want to thank all of you out there who have been regular
readers and those who have become followers, and hope that the lack of recent
posts has not caused you to give up on my humble efforts in this blog. You
see, I have no real experience or training in being a writer, but I have been a voracious reader
all my life of all sorts of books, from the classics to the best sellers, to
the quirky and even the relatively unknown and even the pulps. I hope I have learned
some of the mechanics of writing in this vicarious manner.
This spring I
experienced a bout of writers block, and that caused a crisis of confidence in my
efforts to take hold and grow. But through that I came to see a much better way
to use my material. Initially I thought to emulate Tim O’Brien’s The Things
They Carried. I have been writing away at my new conception for some time
now, and will be completing the work in the near future. It will appear in this
blog in a single, very long post, so that it can be read from start to finish.
That has been one of the problems with this blog format that has bothered me; that
the episodes run from the end as the most recent post to the beginning as the
farthest back.
Most of the
material up to now will be there, some re-written, and there will be a good
deal of new material as well. I hope that all of you will enjoy it. One of the
great things about the blog was that it gave me the opportunity to see what
worked for the reader and what didn’t. So thanks to all of you for that great
opportunity. Watch for the post called “The Final Edition”, it will all be
there! - Orfyn
PS: I estimate that it will be sometime in July that the Final Edition will b e ready to post. I hope you will not be disappointed! - Orfyn

being a voracious reader is all the training you need. Carry on blogging, oh matron!
